  Good evening Mr. Raymond, and thank you for your reply. On my Acer Aspire 5315 keyboard, I have a key with a single vertical arrow next to the key with the two greater-than and less-than signs. However, what you showed me is a diagonal arrow. Is it the same whether the arrow is vertical or diagonal, and should I press the key with the two greater-than and less-than signs to display the greater-than sign, which is the horizontal V?     The key for the vertical arrow is the "shift" key or "majuscule" in French! It doesn't serve to draw an arrow; it's a function key. I have a friend who has the same laptop as you, and the signs < and > are clearly indicated! I think you do not understand the clear explanations we are giving you here!!!

  Good evening, I wanted to display the greater than sign (which is the horizontal V) in Excel and someone told me to hold the Alt key and type + 062, which gives you the greater than sign that looks like a horizontal V. So I tried that and it didn't work, so I would like to know why? Thank you for your help.

    Yes: on a normal keyboard, you hold down [alt] while typing 062 on the numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard!
    It doesn't work when the numbers are only at the top of the keyboard...

It's the lower key "<" plus the "Shift" key, and it gives ">"
It's the same for all keys with 2 or 3 characters.
For keys with 3 characters, you have to press at the same time with the "Alt Gr" key or "Shift" to choose the right one!

I don't understand why you're complicating your life unnecessarily!
If your computer has a key that displays < in lowercase and > in uppercase, I really don't see what else you're looking for!

  Mr. Raymond, but it does not display the greater than sign, which is the horizontal V; however, it displays the less than sign, which is the horizontal V in the opposite direction, without any problem using the keyboard key.
