Battery of my MacBook Pro not detected

Hello,

I'm opening a new topic because despite having consulted numerous forums and subjects, I have not been able to resolve my issue. Here it is:

My MacBook Pro 13 inches (from mid-2012) was working fine until now, except that the battery's autonomy had become insufficient. After purchasing a new (and of course compatible) battery, I carefully replaced the old battery with the new one using a tutorial, nothing complicated so far.

Since then, the device will not turn on without being plugged into the mains.
Once started, the battery logo in the status bar at the top of the screen no longer appears. In the system report, it states in the power section that no battery is installed.

I have attempted SMC and PRAM resets several times. I even contacted Apple support by phone, who advised me to reinstall macOS (I'm on Mojave), which I did (it took me half a day), but this did not allow the detection of the new battery.

I reinstalled the old battery, performed all these manipulations, but the device does not recognize it anymore either!

The indicator light on the power adapter (the magnetic tip on the side of the Mac) no longer lights up (usually green or orange depending on the charge), and one last point: the 8 status LEDs of the battery do not respond anymore, except for number 6 (counting from the button to turn them on) which is constantly lit.

I am desperate and disappointed. The articles and tutorials consulted before this manipulation appeared simple and reassuring, giving no hint of this type of problem.

This is my work tool, I travel a lot, so I need the battery operation. Thank you in advance for your help, which I hope will save me from having to purchase new hardware.

Have a good day,

Nathan

    Hello,

A very clear tutorial for replacing the battery of a MacBook Pro 13" mid-2012 is HERE.
The technical risk lies in step 3 when disconnecting the battery from the motherboard connector.
Step 7 (battery calibration) is also very important as well as resetting the SMC.

Thank you Ritchi for your response.

I have properly followed step 3, and step 7 as well (I am well-informed about calibration, I have always paid close attention to that).
My Macbook Pro still does not recognize either the old or the new battery.

It still only works when plugged in. The green light turns on when the computer is on, but never when it is off (since it does not recognize the battery). Therefore, it is never orange.
