Hello,

I have a problem, I haven't had sound on my laptop for 2 days. Every time I try to reinstall the Realtek Audio drivers from the Asus website, the installation stops at 99% with error message 0X00000002.
If anyone has a solution, my sound card is no longer visible in Device Manager and I have two lines "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" with an exclamation mark and it's impossible to update the drivers.

Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
    This driver is offered on the manufacturer's site for this model, have you tried this one, Audio_Realtek_Win10_64_VER6018470.zip?
    Best regards.

    Friendly regards kaneagle.

    Hello,

    Perform a system restore and choose a date before the issue.

    Windows + R
    Type --> rstrui.exe and OK.

    Even that, I tried to launch it and it crashes at the end as well.
    The PC works fine but it’s impossible to install the sound card drivers. It gets stuck at the end.
    Thanks for your reply anyway.

    Windows key + R
    Type --> devmgmt.msc and OK.

    Give the hardware IDs of the 2 Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus
    Look at this --> Find a device's hardware ID
    Post the IDs in your next message.

    What's the model number of Asus?

    Windows 7, 8 or 10?
    32 or 64 bits?

    Hi,
    I have looked at the procedures recommended by the site. I download the drivers, but it still cannot find the files when I try to update the drivers.
    Thank you if you have a solution.

    Thank you both for your help, but as soon as I start the installation, a window opens indicating:

    Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error trying to install them: Intel (R) audio for screens.

    The specified file is missing.

    Right-click on the 2 devices
    Uninstall
    Check --> remove the device
    Uninstall
    Disconnect the ethernet and wifi
    Restart the pc.

    Try again to install the drivers manually.

    So for the Intel driver, the installation goes well but in Device Manager, I still have the exclamation mark on the audio device.
    For Realtek, the installation stops like the other times with the same error message.
    And you mentioned Windows Update, I have the pending update for the fix KB4541335.
    Do you think that could be related?
