No sound and Realtek device error 10

Hello,
I have no sound on my computer: a red light with a cross is present and when I click on the sound icon, I’m told “no audio output device is installed” (I specify that this occurred for no reason, overnight)
I have already tried to install the Realtek driver via the Asus website (I have an Asus R556L running Windows 10 64bits) with results but not the expected one: since then I have the device installed but with a small yellow triangle next to it -> when I click on it, it tells me This device cannot start (Code 10). The device identification number is: hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260

If you could help me, I would be very grateful

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 61.0.3163.100

    Hello,

    Try this driver --> Realtek
    Unzip it
    Run the setup.exe

Have you attempted a system restore before the issue?

No, this problem really appeared for no particular reason.

Error code 10, most of the time, it is a driver issue.

In case, go to the website touslesdrivers.com, click on my drivers 3.4.0.exe. It will detect all peripherals and check if there is any update for the audio driver.

So I went to this site: it tells me that my device is not installed properly.. so I download the one suggested, and I still end up with the same problem: code 10 and no sound...

I can't right-click on the device since I don't have one, but after some research, I found that they can be installed through the action tab -> add hardware...
So, I followed the procedure you sent me with no result.

    Windows key + X
    Select --> command prompt (admin)
Type --> sfc /scannow and press enter

A system file check will be performed.

New feature: when I connect my computer to the TV there is sound, when I connect a speaker via Bluetooth it also works... So I don't understand where the issue is coming from... Maybe the computer's speakers are unplugged?

Hello, the speakers, I'm in doubt. Did you right-click on the sound icon? Windows sound, speaker sound, microphone sound. There's a red cross underneath.

When nothing is plugged in, so only the sound from the computer should work, the sound icon has a red cross underneath and a message appears saying no devices are installed.

So, the HDMI audio is working.

    I can't right-click on the device since I don't have one

Where does the device ID number you provided in your message come from?

The device identification number is: hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260

It comes from Realtek, which I had tried to install before making this post.

    In the Device Manager
    No alert?
Do you have a section --> other devices?
What do you have in audio, video and game controllers?

I couldn't answer the questions regarding my PC because ever since I tried to access the BIOS, my PC decides to stay stuck on it every time I turn it on... If anyone can help me, I would be grateful.

      It didn't work..
I don't know what trick a friend did for me, but the PC turned back on. So I left it on for a while to see, and then a screen appeared saying "repair" which stayed for two seconds, then the BIOS reappeared..
I tried your technique again, same as before...

    Return to the BIOS
    Advanced
    Boot menu
    Boot sequence
Set the hard drive as first boot
    Save and restart.

Look everywhere in the BIOS, you should find it.
