Hello,
I have no sound on my computer: a red light with a cross is present and when I click on the sound icon, I’m told “no audio output device is installed” (I specify that this occurred for no reason, overnight)
I have already tried to install the Realtek driver via the Asus website (I have an Asus R556L running Windows 10 64bits) with results but not the expected one: since then I have the device installed but with a small yellow triangle next to it -> when I click on it, it tells me This device cannot start (Code 10). The device identification number is: hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260
If you could help me, I would be very grateful
Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 61.0.3163.100

Hello,
Try this driver --> Realtek
Unzip it
Run the setup.exe

Have you attempted a system restore before the issue?

Error code 10, most of the time, it is a driver issue.

In case, go to the website touslesdrivers.com, click on my drivers 3.4.0.exe. It will detect all peripherals and check if there is any update for the audio driver.

Go to the Device Manager
Right-click on the --> problematic audio device
Uninstall (including all drivers)
Right-click on Start
Control Panel
Programs and Features
Uninstall --> Realtek Audio, if present.
Restart the PC.
Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits
Right-click on the audio driver --> Audio_Realtek_.....zip
Choose --> 7Zip
Choose --> extract to "Audio_Realtek_.....\"
Go to the Device Manager
Right-click on the device in question
Update driver
Browse my computer for driver software
Browse
Go to the unzipped driver folder --> Audio_Realtek_.....
Select the folder --> vista64
OK, next
Restart

New feature: when I connect my computer to the TV there is sound, when I connect a speaker via Bluetooth it also works... So I don't understand where the issue is coming from... Maybe the computer's speakers are unplugged?

When I connect my computer to the TV, there is sound
So, the HDMI audio is working.

I can't right-click on the device since I don't have one
Where does the device ID number you provided in your message come from?
The device identification number is: hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0260

In the Device Manager
No alert?
Do you have a section --> other devices?
What do you have in audio, video and game controllers?
