Hello,

When trying to generate a report using the msinfo32 tool, I get a message saying "Unable to collect information. Unable to access the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) software. Windows management files may have been moved or are missing."

How can I fix this error?

I am on Windows 10 version 1903 - 18362.720 (I don’t know which of these two represents the current version).

Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 74.0

    Hi,

    Start with this:

Manually install the Windows 1909 update using the Update Assistant or Media Creation Tool.
    Follow these step-by-step tutorials:

    See if that helps.

      Hi,

Thank you for your response. I updated to version 1909 using the Windows Update Assistant. Unfortunately, it didn't change anything regarding the issue described above.

ok already to see the environment,

To check your computer for any infections and get a general status of the system:

Follow the FRST tutorial by clicking on this blue link. ( take the time to read carefully - everything is well explained ).

Download and run the FRST scan,
Wait for the scan to finish, a message will indicate that the analysis is complete.

Three FRST reports will be generated:
    • FRST.txt
    • Shortcut.
    • Additionnal.txt

Send these 3 reports to the site https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ and in return provide the 3 pjjoint links leading to the reports here in a new response so that we can consult them.

(The blue links lead to step-by-step explanatory tutorials, click on them for more precise instructions to follow).

      Uninstall that:
      Avast
      CCleaner (useless)

      Windows Defender is lighter.

      Yep, WMI seems broken:
WARNING: System Restore is disabled (Total: 118.22 GB) (Free: 33.06 GB) (28%)
      Unable to list restore points
Check the "winmgmt" service or repair WMI.

      Try a Windows Repair.
      Download Windows Repair
Also use Windows Repair to fix Windows: Windows Repair Tutorial
Go to the main repair tab
      then Present Common Repair

      ~~

If it’s still not better: Repair Windows 10 without data loss.

I'll give this a try, but the link to your image doesn't seem to work. I wouldn't want to miss any important information.
