Hello,
For a few weeks now I haven’t been able to access my Instagram account; a message appears saying, "Help us confirm that this account is yours.
To protect your account, you need to request help to log in."
I have reset my password, but I still have the same problem.
Even when logging in via my Facebook account, I get the same message!
I really don’t understand what’s going on! If anyone has a solution, I’m all ears.
Thank you :)

Hello,
I had the same issue and contacted support directly through the Instagram app, by making a request from the "Get help signing in" section below the fields to enter your username and password, then in "Need more help?". I described the problem there and sent it.
I received an email from support providing the following response:
"Thank you for contacting us. Before we can assist you, we need to verify that you are the rightful owner of this account.
Please reply to this email with a photo of you holding a handwritten copy of the code below.
XXXX
The photo must meet the following conditions:
- Include the code above, written on a clean sheet of paper, followed by your full name and username
- Include your hand holding the sheet, as well as your entire face
- Be well-lit, not too small, dark, or blurry
- Be saved and attached to your reply as a JPEG file
Please note that even if this account does not contain any photos of you, or if it is used to represent another person or entity, we will only be able to process your request after receiving a photo that meets these conditions.
Best regards,
The Instagram Team"
We will see if this solution works to resolve the issue!

Thank you for your precise response, but after the section "Need additional help?", we can't write anything... there's simply a list of mentioned cases... and no possibility to send anything.
Quite mysterious indeed :(
Here are the steps to follow in order to send a request for help:
1) Open the Instagram app on your mobile device and enter the last known email address or phone number
2) Tap on Forgot password?
3) Tap on Need more help?
4) Follow the on-screen instructions to send a request for help
However, I just received a response from support who gave me a link to reset my password, which I had already done... So obviously, this hasn't resolved the issue, back to square one :/
