Using a stereo amplifier in mono?

Solved

Hello.
One of my speakers is no longer working. It's not due to one of the channels of the stereo amp since it works when I reverse the left and right connections.
Is there any functional disadvantage (for the health of the amp and/or the speakers) in continuing to use the radio in mono? If so, what is it?

Thank you for your help.

    Hello.

    >>> to continue using the radio in mono? <<<

Is it only with the tuner device? Test with a CD/DVD player to check that the left/right speakers are working properly.

If it’s positive, then the stereo decoder in the tuner is defective (integrated circuit). If you have the mono/stereo function in the tuner menu, switch it to "Mono". From there, both speakers should work. You can stay in mono, it’s safe for the amplifier.

    See you later . . .

      Thank you for your response.
I am currently far from Paris and my hi-fi system. I will test your hypothesis as soon as I return, but I don't really believe it. Because the right output of the tuner works when I plug in the left speaker. Testing next Thursday, not tomorrow.
