connect an amplifier to a Samsung smart TV Solved

Question

How to connect my Marantz PM 5002 amplifier without HDMI output to a Samsung Smart TV UE507475 that has an optical output. When I activate Bluetooth in the TV settings, it says it does not recognize my amplifier. Samsung customer service tells me that I need an optical cable to connect to my amplifier:  What should I do if my recent amplifier has no HDMI and optical output? And what cable do I need? Hello and welcome to this forum,  Does this TV have a headphone output? You're welcome, and feel free to check back in or ask any other questions.Reminder for connections: Connect the provided optical cable between the "Digital Optical" output of the TV and the DAC. Connect the DAC output to an input of the amplifier with an RCA<->RCA cable as shown in the picture.Don't forget to power the DAC.There may be some configuration needed in the TV's audio menu if it doesn't work the first time.-- I call a spade a spade.*  *in French in the text

Hello,  I just received the box and the cables, I have what you told me but I still don't have any output on my amp while my other devices are working. What do you mean by "powering the DAC"; I tried to set up the "optical" configuration in the "sound" menu of my TV, and I have no sound at all, so I had to switch back to the speakers.  Thank you for your response.

It's not about charging it but about powering it, and if the indicator doesn't light up, it's either that your charger isn't working or the DAC is defective.  -- I call a spade a spade *      *in French in the text
