Hello everyone!

I would like to combine Illustrator with an Excel file in order to generate several .pdf or .ai files.

For example, an Excel file containing dimensions, with one column for height, another column for width, and the rows listing store names (e.g.: Fnac Paris, Fnac Marseille, Darty Paris, Darty Lyon,....) essentially a hundred stores.

I would like to create a hundred files named after the stores, each containing a rectangle with the correct dimensions.

I'm not sure if I'm being clear

Is this possible? I can't find anything on forums or Google!

Thanks in advance!

Look to see if you can do something with the scripts...

However, Illustrator is not a true multipage tool, and creating multiple files doesn't seem easy to me...

On the other hand, it should be possible with InDesign, which has a scripting function in XML and especially data merging.... If you don't want to write the schemas, there's an extension called "Easycatalog" https://www.65bit.com/software/easycatalog/ that does it for you..

This extension is designed for creating catalogs, business cards, in short, all applications where repetitive fields need to be modified..
