Hello, good evening.
I bought an external hard drive today with the aim of keeping my documents safe on a backup hard drive.
But I'm facing a persistent issue.

I simply plug my USB 3.0 external hard drive into the... USB 3.0 port.
I then calmly go to the "Disk Management" window to initialize the drive.
And there appears this window, which I described as dreadful, announcing the worst.

I have already encountered this error with another hard drive.
I have already done some troubleshooting, BIOS, CMD, specialized software.
Another point, the hard drive is not recognized on two other computers running Win10. Yet I cannot believe it could be defective. Since it just came from the store.

Here is the technical data sheet for the hard drive in question:
http://www.tx-europe.com/accessoires/boitier-externe-pour-disque-dur/boitier-tbr900/#.XboO3uhKjcs

And here are other details about the drive, as seen by Windows

I don't know what else to say, hoping someone has the solution.
Thank you in advance.

I bought a new hard drive, from the brand Western Digital
(WD Elements Portable HDD 1TB for €35)

And it works on all the other PCs in the house except my main one, where I have what I want to back up... :-|

    The same error occurs.
I think it might be a device driver update issue, or a problem with recognizing USB 3.0; it's a PC that I built myself without much experience, I might have made a mistake in the installation of software or drivers.

I'm therefore in a state of reflection, I will give updates if I find any, while waiting to receive help.

for the drivers, try checking with driverscloud

otherwise, try the other USB ports if you haven't already tried them

    Hello,
it’s not necessarily the hard drive itself that is faulty, but rather the adapter inside the casing that must be defective. I recommend you go to the store and ask to have it replaced.
