Hello,
Maybe like this: -First, turn off your printer and unplug it. Wait a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. Proceed with a test.
-Try to manually move the carriage to see if you can unlock it (making sure not to force it too much if it doesn't want to move). It may be that the axis of the carriage itself is the issue (for example, too dirty). Try cleaning and lubricating it in that case and proceed with another test.
-If the problem does not come from the axis, take a look at the encoder strip. If it is dirty, clean it with a clean cloth.
-The problem may be due to a jam. Check that you do not have too much paper in your printer. The problem may also come from a small object lodged in the mechanism. Perform a check and don't hesitate to give it a quick blast of compressed air to dislodge any embedded objects.
