Windows 10, empty network connections and no ethernet connection

Hello,
I will explain my problem to you. After having connection issues with SFR, I was able to recover it. Since the network is still not restored on my desktop PC, I reset the network. Once that was done, I no longer have internet access; the connection light on the PC indicates that no connection is available. The network card is visible in the device manager but not in the "network connections" tab. I should specify that the network works perfectly over Wi-Fi as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and help me, as I need this connection for work.
Have a nice day!

Configuration: Macintosh / Chrome 75.0.3770.142

Hello,
have you tried resetting the network card? Sometimes a wrong IP assignment
or troubleshooting can help.

Yes, I'm trying to reinstall the drivers now, but I don't think the antivirus is related.

In device management, is there an error message on the network card?
Have you tried updating it directly through the device manager?

It's very old.
Uninstall any additional antivirus software (Avast!, etc.).
Uninstall any VPN software if you have it.

Try what’s there: https://www.askvg.com/fix-network-connections-folder-is-empty-in-windows-not-showing-network-adapters-list/

If no better.
Try updating Windows 10.

So go ahead and try the update.
It's very old, 1607 and no longer supported.

I tried to connect via hotspot using my iPhone but I can't connect, the iPhone is shown in the network cards of the device manager but it still does not appear in the list of network connections.

No alternative before? Because I must admit that I have 500 gigabytes of applications, and it's going to hurt to reinstall everything.

try to load optimal or default options from the BIOS
do you have multiple Ethernet ports on the motherboard?
might be an issue with the motherboard and the port is faulty

I only have one port, and I don't know the optimal load or default option in the BIOS; can you explain it to me, please?

it's in the menu to back up the BIOS
it's also possible to load defaults
try with F10 or look for the menu, usually the last one on the right

it may be that there is a hardware problem, a faulty cable or ethernet port
a 6 euro wifi key to help out

Is it possible that the network card is defective? Even though it is visible in the device manager.

asteriot Posted messages 529 Registration date   Status Member Last intervention   113

it may not be the card itself, but the Ethernet port (the connector)
it could be a cable issue, there are straight and crossover cables

No possibility then? Is it just material?

Yes, it's possible, even likely
there are two solutions, Wi-Fi key or Ethernet card
