Issue shutting down computer

Hello, I have an HP laptop with Windows 10 and several times I cannot turn it off. It tells me "Preparing Windows, please do not turn off your computer" and this lasts for hours. I have to remove the battery. Thank you for your help.

    Surely the installation of updates following a Windows restart (you shouldn’t just turn it off randomly) you will damage it.

    The enemy is stupid: he thinks we are the enemy when it is actually him!

      I will do what you told me. Right now I'm using the tablet; I will turn on my computer. I can use it, but when I shut it down using the mouse, the screen shows "Preparing Windows," so it will do it on its own. Because last time, 12 hours later, it was the same.
