Hello, I bought a Google Home not long ago, but every time I ask it a question, it responds with nonsense:
-Ok Google, what is the height of the Eiffel Tower? -Eiffel Tower.
-Ok Google, what is the capital of Brazil? -In order for me to help you, you need to give me more information.
-Ok Google, play me Harry Potter music. -In order for me to help you, you need to give me more information.

I restarted the Google Home, but it had no effect.
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance.

PS: The weather works fine.

    Hello,

    Some suggestions:
Pronunciation hasadreuse, too far off,... etc.
At my place, it works perfectly, except that from time to time, Mrs. Google starts talking by herself without being invited.... I think she can't live without me anymore... :-)

Hello, the Google Home is 50 cm away from me and right next to the WIFI...
And for the pronunciation, I tried to clearly enunciate the words but nothing changes.
      Thanks anyway.

Has your voice been properly set up during the initial installation?

Actually, at purchase/first use, everything was working fine.
And no, Google does not ask me to set up my voice.
In the app, it's offered to me, but it fails: it redirects to a 404 error.

    Hello,
As of July 2, 2019, the command: "Say Google" should no longer be available.
Only the commands: "Hey" and "Ok" are recognized by the Google Assistant, which is probably why an update on their part could cause this.

At home, it works well with OK Google, but sometimes it talks by itself too.
Maybe an update is needed on the phone, but I haven't had time to explore that option.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

      Prerequisites.
      You must have:

Android 6.0 Marshmallow or a later version
Google Play Services, meaning a Google-certified smartphone
at least 1.5 GB of RAM
      a screen of at least 720p (at least 1280 x 720 pixels)

      A server-side update

It's not enough to meet the prerequisites to immediately benefit from Google Assistant.
And unfortunately, it’s also not enough to manually install the latest versions of Google Play Services or the Google app, for example through APKmirror, to activate the virtual assistant.
The deployment is indeed partly server-side, meaning Google is gradually activating Google Assistant on the Google accounts of its millions of French-speaking users.
There is no other solution than to be patient. There are indeed some workarounds, but at this stage the simplest thing is to wait or to inquire at the place where you purchased your smartphone and take Google Home with you to see what they say.

    You need:

The latest version of the Google Home app.
Firmware 1.35.134464 (or any later version) of the Google Home app.
Your Google account linked to Google Home, then see its reaction later.

Well then, maybe your phone needs to be connected to Wi-Fi.

    I finally solved the problem...
You need to go to https://myaccount.google.com/intro/data-and-personalization and turn everything on.
Thanks to everyone who replied to me.

      Hello,
That's exactly it, on the phone which must be connected to Wifi with the bars activated next to each service.
Keep up the good work and thank you for the solution as well, it helps many people here.
