Hello,

I’m not very knowledgeable about this, and my question may seem silly, but that's how we learn!

I’m planning to buy an Aegis 3 8RC-078FR PC that comes with 8 GB of RAM. I would like to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB (there's one free slot). The documentation states that it requires SO-DIMM DDR4 2400 MHz.
Is it indeed SO-DIMM or SDRAM? I thought SO-DIMM was just for laptops.

One more question: do the RAM sticks need to be of the same capacity, or can I have one 8 GB and one 16 GB?
Thank you for your help, have a great day!

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 65.0

Hello,
The SO-DIMM is indeed for laptops because these modules are smaller, for your MSI PC, it does indicate in the specifications that it uses SO-DIMM, see this page.
If you look in your PC, the SO-DIMM modules are really smaller than the DIMM.
