Hello,

I want to buy a memory card and I went to the Carrefour website and saw SD cards "go" and "gb." What's the difference? I was told they're the same thing, but why then does it cost more?

    Hello,

    Sorry to correct your point, The Sentry. These are not two different measures. It’s exactly the same; bit in English equals octet in French.

    As for the prices, there are differences between brands that only they could explain, but I doubt it’s related to the notation Mb versus Mo.

    However, as The Sentry mentions, speeds can account for a difference in price. Fast speeds are recommended for photos and videos, less important for computer data.

    Best regards

      Hi

      I doubt it's related to the notation Mb versus Mo <= Mb = megabit as opposed to MB = megabyte

      1MB = 1Mo = 8Mb

      In usage, we use bytes for storage capacities or file sizes and bits for data rates/speeds like internet connection...

      It's also the requester's fault, who should change their keyboard since the Shift keys on theirs are not working.

      My apologies, Scarface. I should have written Byte (8 bits) = Octet and not bit = octet.

      Your correction will apply for any future readers.

      Sincerely

      Faux : "go" means nothing, it's "Go" or "GO".
