Hello,
I'm reaching out to you today because I'm really lost.
I recently bought a sound card (Focusrite Scarlett 2i4) to connect my headphones and improve the overall quality of my listening experience.
After connecting it to the back of my PC via USB and installing the drivers, it is finally operational.
I have no problem listening to my audio files such as music and no issues with any other content on the internet.
However, I have a software that I've been using without issue for several months now, which allows me to watch movies on my computer: PowerDVD 18 Ultra.
It was working perfectly before I got this sound card.
Indeed, since connecting my headphones to it, I'm unable to play the audio from movies that I used to watch before. The video, on the other hand, works without any problems.
When launching a movie, a message appears at the top right of the software saying "Audio not supported" (I remind you that this message appears on a video file that I was able to play with sound without any issues before).
I have already tried playing the same file by disabling my antivirus, connecting the USB cable to another port, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, or even reinstalling all of my audio drivers.
I need your help because I really have no more solutions in mind.
Thank you very much in advance for your responses.
Best regards.

Hello,
Watch your videos with VLC, like everyone else.
The message that appears on the video is generated by the Video playback software... and it means that the Audio encoding is no longer supported... due to your new audio configuration...
We don't know what is supported by your new system... we also don't know the encoding of your video... nor the video itself and its origin... whether it has been recompiled by you for example...?

Thank you.
That said, there might be some settings in "Power DVD" that allow you to play the audio format of your movie... but you would need to know what that audio format is first..??
All those "things", it's a bit of the same story, you always have to look for the detail that prevents it from working... and with these systems, it can take up a full-time job..!
