Hello
I am using Windows 7
Avast sent a message that provided me with a list of programs slowing down my PC, with the first one appearing to significantly slow down the PC, it is written:
Digital TV Tuner device registration application
What is it and how can I remove it?
I checked with msconfig for the programs that started at boot, I did not find this software?
Indeed, my PC seems very slow for some time and I don't think I did anything special...
My Livebox is ONLY for Internet. I don’t use the phone or TV through the box

First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond to me.
I went to Control Panel / Programs and Features / Turn Windows features on or off.
There, I unchecked the box next to Windows Media Center.
Then I received the message:
disabling Windows Media Center may affect other features and programs installed on your computer, including default options. Do you want to continue?
A little "panicked," I gave up, but why keep Windows Media Center? Apparently, it is used to watch DVDs and TV shows. I do neither. I use VLC for photos.
So, what should I do??

Avast is doing its job to try to sell their antivirus. Digital tv tuner device register is a windows media center. So legitimate.

If the PC really has slow issues, it may be infected, but if your PC is behaving totally normally then I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. It's nonsense

if windows media center is enabled to launch at windows startup then yes, it can always be disabled from startup.

re disabling Windows Media Center may affect other installed features and programs.. yes indeed! including certainly this Digital TV tuner device register  you do not have to uninstall Media Center! just disable it from the programs that start with Windows. from the desktop go to "run" then type msconfig -> enter startup tab uncheck unnecessary programs at startup -> apply -> close this will not remove the software or application, you will just have to launch them only when needed
