difference between DVB T and TNT? Solved

Hello,
I have a Philips LCD TV 26PF5520 D with dual analog and DVB T digital tuners.
I receive channels through the cable AND also some channels (TF1, M6, Direct 8, France 4, Europe 2) when I switch to the digital tuner but WITHOUT a DTT antenna!!!

Who can explain the reasons for this?

And why am I unable to receive Antenne 2 and France 3?

There is no difference between TNT and DVB-T. TNT is the name in France for television broadcast under the international DVB-T standard. The two acronyms actually share the letter T for terrestrial, so TNT = DVB-T in France.

If we can only partially receive channels or multiplexes from TNT, we often have an antenna problem...

Regarding the meaning of "DVB", apart from the fact that the "T" does not stand for "Terrestrial", but "Tuner", as opposed to the "DVB-C" standard with "C" for "Cable". The latter standard is widely used in Germany. In France, it is virtually monopolized by "Numéricable", from whom one must rent a decoder to watch TNT if one is on cable.
There is also a "DVB-S" standard which will, in principle, concern the reception of TNT on mobile phones. This last point is subject to verification...
The "DVB-T" is the "terrestrial" standard for receiving TNT (via antenna). It's the one for all the adapters available in stores, including the "TNT" tuners integrated into recent televisions.

Hello,

DVB T (Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial) is the standard for digital terrestrial television - that is the same as DTT. It is the digital television standard in Europe.

There is a common mix-up between TNT and TNT.

Currently, TNT stands for Digital Television for EVERYONE.
A bouquet of free digital channels that everyone in France has the right to access. It is a right that cannot be denied (by property owners, syndicates, etc.)

But there are several ways to access it.

This bouquet can be broadcast via satellite using the DVB-S standard, by cable using the DVB-C standard, or by terrestrial radio waves using DVB-T.

On small mobile televisions, this TNT bouquet can be received using the DVB-H standard (which is delayed in France)

These standards are only meant for television broadcasting (and possibly radio)

It is possible to receive these channels via other digital networks: local loop (ADSL, FTTH), mobile networks 3G, ...

So TNT is not the French term for terrestrial digital television, nor for DVB-T. And there is no mistake in referring to TNT via satellite.
