Choice: laptop with removable battery or built-in battery? Solved

Question

Good evening everyone!  I would like to buy a computer this year.  I would like a computer with a removable battery, but the computers I'm interested in have a built-in battery. That's "the catch" that's holding me back from making my decision!  Note: I will be using this laptop approximately 70% / 80% at a fixed location and 30% / 20% on the go.  I've read a lot of information about these two types of batteries online.  But I'm still asking for your opinion.

Good evening and thank you for your response.  What concerns me about the "built-in battery" is that it apparently has a shorter lifespan than the "removable battery." And it is still much easier to replace a removable battery than a built-in one.  For your information: my main laptop has a removable battery since 2012; I have never had any issues; the battery is like new.  See you.

Hi, I don't know what kind of opinions you might have read about these two types of technologies. I think the simplest thing is to check on the support site of the PC brand how much a replacement battery costs to get a clearer idea. If it costs an arm and a leg, it’s probably top-notch and well-protected by an efficient integrated circuit. Otherwise, in both cases, it's a potential source of problems, but hey, that's just a rough opinion.

Re... !  Another question comes to my mind; it might be "a bit silly" but I'm asking it anyway.  In the technical specifications of laptops on the Internet, how can you tell if the battery is removable or built-in (on the line of the specification that corresponds to the battery)? I'm asking this question because the laptops I have spotted so far were in stores; so I had the visual aspect.  Thank you in advance for your response.

For your information, mine dates back to 2009 and it's still the original battery. Also, it's unlikely to find original batteries, but reconditioned ones are available, and for professional brands. For consumer brands, you can look, but it's all used. The choice of a removable battery is mainly for greater autonomy with a backup battery. Personally, I would check the keyboard's ergonomics first; it's the most important factor when choosing a laptop, along with ensuring that the screen's viewing angle is very good, whether you're next to the screen, above, or below, otherwise you're going to have a much harder time than with an integrated battery.

Hello everyone!  Today, I just learned from a store salesperson that all new computers have a "built-in battery" and that the "removable battery" no longer exists.  Is this true?  Talk later.

Hello.  A person (retired with limited financial means) in my circle bought this HP 15-bs037nf laptop at the Boulanger store in October 2018, so roughly 4 months ago. Of course, it's not a Lamborghini of laptops, but the battery is removable.  Integrated batteries take up less space and weight, but if it needs to be replaced, for those who aren't handy with delicate repairs, it will require going through a computer repair technician. The price is likely to skyrocket. Now, there are also the soldered memory sticks. And in some cases, once again, it will be necessary to go through a technician if we want to upgrade the RAM. Thank you both for your replies!  "Judge_DT": Please confirm what the seller told me in the store. Even though it's a real disappointment for me.  As for "jojolaguitare": I want to buy a multimedia Asus laptop (a brand I am very satisfied with from my previous and current computers). Apparently, Asus laptops all have a "built-in battery" now.  Regarding your comment "everything is designed so that we can no longer repair a laptop ourselves"; it's hard for me to judge because I've never had any issues with my computers; therefore, I've never had to get them repaired. However, this must surely be true for the built-in battery case.  See you.
