No TNT in new apartment

Question

Hello,
I'm in a difficult situation because I've just moved into an apartment in a building and I can't pick up TNT at all. I prefer to warn you: I understand ABSOLUTELY nothing about all this, so I really need help :)

I've connected my cable to the TV, which is linked to a box quite similar to this one (photo found on Google Images)

- When I do a hertzian search, there's nothing, just one image that looks like a surveillance image showing a screen with "no signal" written on it.

- When I do a cable search, I find nearly 200 channels, but they have the SFR logo and, of course, are inaccessible.

It's simple: I don't want SFR, I subscribed to an Orange fiber plan because I need excellent internet and I want the basic TNT channels. The installer is coming on the 22nd, but won't he tell me to install the Orange TV to replace it? With surely an extra cost? Because I'm already struggling financially, I can't add any extra costs.

What should I do?

Hello,  Is your new apartment equipped with Orange fiber? Do you have a TNT decoder? Why not wait until the 22nd?

Hello, there are a lot of message exchanges, so I'll summarize: if you already have an internet connection, you have fiber or DSL in your apartment, and you want a landline and mobile phone, as well as public and private television (TNT as we say)
you need to contract a full subscription with the service provider of your choice. You should expect to pay around €23 per month for the first year and then €42. You should check the offers online, as they occasionally have promotions, but you'll still need to pay the TV license fee to your tax collector.
If you find that too expensive, then:
I think that in an apartment, you should have a wall socket to get public television for free, regardless of who provides it.
Recent wall TV sockets are screw-type, like in your photo, so you'll need a cable that connects the TV to the socket that screws in.
If you have a minimum internet subscription, you can watch almost all public channels on your PC.
With a Free mobile plan at €2 per month for 2 hours or €5 per month for unlimited calls and 20GB of internet with Bouygues, for example (that's what I have when they run a promotion).

I noted that our friend has contacted a provider who will install fiber for him; we should then check if his bundled offer suits him and wait a year at a reduced price before looking for a better deal; there’s no rush.

I'm back with some news!

Well, the technician set up the Fiber, but apparently the dysfunctional SFR channels are still there.
He told me that the only way was to have the Orange TV box, which I haven't received even though it's supposed to be included in the offer. I called Orange, and oh! How surprising! Indeed, the subscription is included, but there’s a €40 fee for getting the Orange TV! Of course, this wasn’t mentioned directly :-D I had forgotten their dubious sales tactics!

The fact is, I don’t want to pay the €40 for the TV box for just a few channels, especially since I'm already paying my TV license fee. The question is: Is there no way to get the TV normally, like about 99% of French people, and as has been the case in all my apartments until now? Does anyone have a solution? :o
