Hello,

I am reaching out to you because I have a little issue. I just moved into a new apartment for 6 months. Yesterday, when I tried to turn on the TV, I realized there was no TV antenna socket... so I went and bought a portable antenna... failure! It still doesn't work, and I can't detect any TV channels... I noticed there was an RJ45 socket on the wall behind the TV. I don't have a box or internet connection at the moment.
I'm not very good in this area, and I don't know what I can do to get the TV working. I suppose I will have to subscribe to a box to hope to receive the TV. My questions are:
Should I call France Télécom to open an internet line? If so, what is the average wait time before I can use it?
Should I also subscribe to an internet box?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0

    Hello
On some new installations, TV (terrestrial) can be distributed through the RJ45 sockets!!
In the panel, there should be a patch panel, and we "should be able" to distribute what we want through these outlets: telephone, IT, and TV

Thank you for your response, but I must admit that it's very vague for me... I struggle to understand how I can receive TV via an RJ45 cable if I don't have an internet connection in the apartment...

There is not necessarily a need for the internet!
As HAMBIOURGEOIS said, the standard in new builds is to have one RJ45 socket per room that can provide TV/telephone/web. If the television is terrestrial (check with the owner), you will need an adapter....

What kind of adapter? I'm sorry if my questions may seem very silly, but I'm trying to understand and I admit that I'm having a bit of trouble...
