Hello,
Windows 10 64-bit
Issue: I have installed Money on 2 computers located in different rooms of my home, and connected via WiFi.
Is it possible to configure the 2 machines in such a way that I can
input transactions on PC1 and find them on PC2, and vice versa?
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
As I haven't followed the development of Money, I cannot specify whether one of the latest versions includes synchronization between two installations, but I doubt it.
One solution, if Money allows you to choose the save location, would be to use a single file for both installations.
This file would be on a USB stick connected to the box, allowing access to the accounts from either PC.
To enable the USB stick or a USB drive on the box, you need to enter the management interface and activate the file server so that external devices can be visible from any workstation.
On the workstations, you then need to enter the following line in the address bar of the file explorer:
\\livebox

To validate the USB stick or a USB drive on the box, you need to enter the management interface of it and activate the file server so that external devices can be
which will create a shortcut to the USB stick/drive
To ensure that this link does not have to be entered each time, it can be "saved" permanently by declaring it as a quick access by right-clicking on the icon of the USB stick/drive.
You will then find it in the left column of the file explorer (files accompanied by a pin).
This applies only if Money allows saving only on an external volume (the USB stick), which I do not know. Create a trial account before attempting to copy your real account to this stick.
Moreover, given the unreliability of USB sticks, it would be better to use a small external hard drive and regularly back up your accounts to a third-party volume (stick or on one of your PCs).
Best regards. -
Good evening Georges97,
First of all, a big thank you for taking the time to think about my issue and suggest some solutions.
Regarding Money, it is the 2004 version; I need to check if it allows choosing the save destination.
That said, I will need to be careful; I was hoping it would be simpler. I will also see what my livebox allows.
I will keep you updated as soon as possible.
Have a good evening. -
Hello;
The simplest and most reliable solution is to make a backup either on a USB stick or on a CD/RW (personally, I prefer the latter) and to restart one or the other of the MsMoney machines from these backups ....>> both installations will indeed have the same data!
Looking forward to your upcoming comments, but if none >> Topic resolved

Good evening,
Sorry for my delay due to the hard drive crash while I was testing the suggestions.
I just found my machine and first tested your solution
jmarion, which is simple once you know the backup options provided by Money.
In addition to the automatic backup performed by Money upon closure,
I made an extra backup on a USB key with which I open Money on the second PC. It works perfectly.
Thank you very much and a thousand apologies for my delay.
