Hello; my landline phone with answering machine is upstairs and is connected to my box (SFR); I would like to move this phone downstairs so that I no longer have to go up to check the answering machine.
Is there a way to make this change without running wires through the house? Downstairs, I only have power outlets. Thank you for your responses.

Hello,
You need to read the manual... and for that, you need to know the model of the phone... ??
But generally, there's no need to go upstairs... With a "Cordless" phone, you can read your messages on the base unit with a button or a menu that should be called "Answering Machine" ===> Play messages... something like that..
Moreover, you might not even need an answering machine AT HOME... SFR offers this feature in the contract with its BOX... and to listen to this voicemail, just dial 147 on one of the two handsets, whether it's upstairs or downstairs..
Maybe you even confused these two types of voicemail..??
Otherwise, you need to run wires between the BOX and the phone DOWNSTAIRS which would be the BASE...
