Install Chrome wherever I want (on disk D)

Hello,

Recently on Windows 10, I tried to install the Chrome browser.
But as mentioned in the subject, I want to install it (like my other software) on drive D, since C is a low-capacity SSD; there's no need to clutter it!

But Chrome installs itself without asking questions and, of course, on C!
Is there a way to bypass this automatic installation (isn't that outdated?)

Thanks in advance for any positive ideas

Hello,

Sorry for my late reply: I've been really busy lately;-(

Thanks Bazfile for your suggestion; why not the portable version indeed?
But this suggestion raises a related question for me: why would anyone still install Chrome on their PC if the portable version does the same job? And why does an installable version still exist?

Unless... there are functional differences between the two?
Can you shed some light on this subject?

Thanks also to Judge_DT... I'll also go take a look over there...

Mike

Portable versions are interesting since they can be launched from a USB drive, allowing you to have your Google Chrome in your pocket and run it from any computer.

Hello,
What is from another time is the size of SSDs. To display SSD on the packaging and sell their PCs better without raising the price too much, manufacturers use very small SSDs. What's the point of having an SSD if we have to install applications on a basic hard drive? Because of this, we don't take advantage of the SSD's performance. The only solution to your problem is Portable Google Chrome.

Hello,
In reality, we can do it via Junction, with a complete installation of Chrome without needing the portable version.
