Hello,
I had a very small driver issue on my PC today and I wanted to reinstall them. But after the restart, my PC doesn't recognize my keyboard or mouse, even though I can use them in the BIOS.
Any ideas?

I found a solution, so if someone ever has the same problem as me, here’s how I did it: in my BIOS/UEFI, there was a PS2 simulator option that allowed me to take control without the drivers and then reinstall everything.

Hi,

Well, to see things more clearly...

-> What’s your hardware configuration?
-> Which version of Windows do you have?
-> Are you sure all the cables are properly connected?

If you unplug and replug the keyboard and mouse, do they not reinstall?
Same if you plug them into the front USB ports?

Yes, everything is properly connected, I tested it on the USB 2 and 3 ports of the motherboard and the front panel.

Without a mouse or keyboard, no matter how much we tell you to do this or that, if you can't type or click on anything, we won't get very far...

Try using another keyboard or mouse for the time being, otherwise you'll remain in the same place.

Well, okay.

So, I see two remaining and possible solutions:

-> Try a ClearCMOS, even though I'm not really sure it will restore the USB functionality. When you plug in a USB stick, is it detected or not? ;-\

Otherwise, you will need to get a PS/2 USB adapter, you connect your USB mouse to PS/2 and you will probably be able to use it.

Finally, the very last solution: it's reinstalling Windows. That's the one left if you have no control at all.

Hello,

what do you mean by a driver issue? Because if it was working before installation, you might as well uninstall what you tried to install and leave the ones that Windows provides.

In fact, I changed my power supply and the USB 3.0 ports weren't working, so I installed the necessary drivers to get them working. And it worked, at least until I rebooted.

If the ports no longer work with the new power supply, it probably means the power supply isn't providing enough power.

I don't know either.
I just changed the power supply because the old one wasn't powerful enough, but this one is 80 Plus Bronze 600W for a mid-range setup.

"Mid-range config" doesn't mean much.

Before buying a power supply, you calculate what you need to power and buy the PSU accordingly :)

That will at least give a rough estimate.

Yes, I've already done this calculation to choose it, and I allowed some margin (theoretical consumption: approx. 400w), but I don't know how to revert to the original drivers without access to my keyboard and mouse.
