Hello,
I recently bought an HP ENVY 5547; everything works well EXCEPT that when I want to print a photo on photo paper, the photo paper tray is not used. However:
- on the printer I properly select photo paper 10x15
- in the settings window, I select the format, paper quality, etc.
When I edit, the 10x15 format is okay but the printing is done on A4 paper.
There are no details in the online help or on the forum
Has anyone encountered the same problem?
Thank you for your help

Best regards

Good evening,
Found the solution to the problem
The issue lies in the choice of paper format so that the "photo paper" tray is used
You need real 10x15 - 4x6’’ because the "postcard 100x148" format is not recognized by the device.
Do the test:
First, choose a test photo that is not too colorful or a text screenshot in JPG or PNG format
Open with "Preview"
Click on "File" "Print"
Check that "Printer" recognizes the printer; here HP ENVY 5540 Series
Presets: select "Print from photo tray"
Copies 1; do not check Double-sided
Pages: check "all"
Paper size: select "4x6 inch sheet", then "4x6 inch sheet with or without border (whichever you prefer)
Orientation: vertical or horizontal depending on the photo
In the bottom window: "Preview" (default)
click on the arrows to refine, but the most important thing is to go to "Paper Management" check "Fit to paper size"; below it should display Destination paper size; verify that the "suggested paper" is indeed "4x6 inch with or without border" according to the choice made above.
Go back to the "paper management" window and select "Paper type and quality" choose "Paper type", "Quality", and especially "Source": switch from "Automatic" to "Photo tray". I have not tested the "Automatic" function; maybe it automatically selects the "Photo Tray"
I believe these basic functions unlock the situation: you can print on "photo paper" from the "photo tray"; then it's up to everyone to adapt according to their choices.
I use Canon Glosy II photo paper (old stock and it's very good)

Thank you for all these explanations that I will test as soon as possible.
Note: Starting from the main printer, I was able to print by selecting the "A6" format, which is 10x15 cm.
I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Hello,
Having followed your good advice and checked the cleaning of the pebbles, the printer is still asking me to put in paper!
If I go through the main tray, the printing goes smoothly.
To be honest, I don't remember using the photo tray much since I got the printer.
But thank you very much.
