Hello,

Hello,

I have the same problem as all of you.
I don't know how to reactivate the Touchpad function.
While searching through my Thomson THBK2-10.32CTW laptop running Windows 10, I can't find the driver for the Touchpad. I only have the HID mouse showing up in the device manager.
I have searched online but I can't find the driver for Thomson.

Please help me…
Thank you in advance

Hello

Normally, the touchpad is activated from the keyboard using one of the Fn function keys.
On one of the Fn keys at the top of the keyboard, you should find the touchpad symbol (it might be F2). Press the Fn key at the bottom of the keyboard (often next to Ctrl) simultaneously with the appropriate F key at the top of the keyboard.
All of this is probably detailed in the computer manual since these are very common operations.

Otherwise, you need to go through the PC settings. I don't know if what I'm going to tell you exactly applies to your computer.
- Click the Start button and go to Settings
- In the window that opens, click on Touchpad in the left column
- On the right, click on Additional Settings
- In the small window that opens, click on the Device Settings tab
- Below, the name of the touchpad appears on a white background. Below it, there are 3 buttons: click on Enable.
The touchpad should now work. Additionally, if you double-click on the name of the touchpad, you can access all the settings.

Close all windows by clicking OK.

Good evening,

I wanted to thank you for your response.

I followed your explanations but it doesn't work because there is no touchpad name appearing. I have the impression that the touchpad driver or the Synaptic has uninstalled itself.
I can't find that darn driver for my Thomson THBK2-10.32CTW computer.
Thank you anyway.

Hello,

The touchpad should be somewhere in the device manager.
It is usually associated with the mouse (Mice and other pointing devices).
If it's not there, check under "Human Interface Devices" or elsewhere. If you find it, disable it and then enable it again, and then restart the PC (or restart the PC and enable it afterwards).

To install a driver, the device must be recognized. That's the first problem; then it will be time to reinstall the driver if it is reported as faulty.

If the touchpad is indeed absent, consider the possibility of a hardware failure.
