Audacity is displaying an audio host error.

Hello,
to record sound from my computer, I was using the Audacity software and everything was working perfectly. But for some time now my PC (running Win 10) displays "Audio opening error: Change the audio host or the recording device..." for the same action. Could someone please tell me what I should do? And what does this error mean? Thank you in advance

Hello,
We all tend to disable anything that might spy on us on Windows 10. If you see this message in Audacity: "Error opening sound device. Check device settings and project sampling," make sure to check in Windows settings - privacy - location, camera - microphone if access to the mic on this device is enabled. If not, click on modify and then enable it. Also, turn on Allow apps to access your microphone; however, you can disable applications like Cortana, camera, voice recorder, etc. I struggled a lot before finding this out.
