EPS and AI Artcut 2009 Issue

Hello,

I just bought a Rabbit plotter with the Artcut 2009 software, everything was going well and we even did a test cut. The only downside is that we cannot open EPS or AI vector files; it seems like when I open it, it works but absolutely nothing happens, the screen stays blank!

If someone can help me with this software to import, it would be a great help! Thank you.

    If you type a text in the software, does the cutting happen correctly?

    Are you sure that the EPS file you are opening is indeed a vector graphic? (the fact that it is an EPS file does not necessarily mean that it is vectorial)

    If your EPS is indeed a vector graphic, check that it is PostScript level 2 (not level 3). Also try with an AI version 8 file (later versions have more complex variables that the software may not understand).

      Yes, when I type text it comes out great. I'm just checking to see if it works properly.

      I think it's a vector file, yes.

      I don’t know how to check if it’s Postscript 2; I’m a novice at this.

      You can open your EPS in Inkscape and check with the "edit nodes" tool that you have control handles on the outline.

      And you can save as PostScript level 2 in the "file/save as..." menu.
