Hello,

I was given a HP Envy dv7 notebook PC!
The person took it to a technician to have it installed with Windows 7 in 2012!
I was given it because it was slow, so I wanted to restore it to factory settings and now there is no recovery manager!
So I reinstalled Windows 7 that I had before and now I have no drivers, so no network card, no Ethernet, no USB, etc.!
I am being told to do updates but I don’t have internet!
Could you please help me?

Thank you.

Configuration: Android / Chrome 65.0.3325.109

    Hello,

What you are experiencing is normal; since you were unable to use recovery, you cannot have the drivers for the machine.

    However, nothing is lost.

The HP website is well designed; by correctly entering the model of your PC, and better yet, the serial number, you can download all the drivers from another PC, burn them onto a CD, and then install them from that CD. Do not attempt to do this from a USB stick, as it is very likely that it will not be recognized.

    To provide a useful link:

    Good luck to you,

    Best regards

First of all, thank you wifi38 for your quick response! However, on the HP site, it asks me for the version of Windows and there is only version 8 while I am on Windows 7, is there any consequence?
Another question: could I recover the recovery manager since I have nothing (CD-ROM, internet, etc.)? Thank you

It would have been better to have W7, but if you only have W8, you can download the drivers. Just be careful to choose the correct version, 32 or 64 Bits. As for the recovery manager, it is typically reserved for one OS and one type of PC. So sorry, but no.
      Best regards

So here it is, when I go to the HP website to reinstall the drivers, it asks me for the version of Windows! I only have Windows 8 (64 bits) as an option, while I have Windows 7 (32 bits)! What should I do?

      Thank you

Hello kaneagle, do you think that even if it's not the same model as the 1245dx I can still install the drivers?

    Look --> here
Try the 64-bit Windows 8 drivers, sometimes the drivers are compatible with both versions, either 32 and 64 bits.

    Go to Start
    In the Search bar
Type --> devmgmt.msc and hit OK.

Provide the hardware IDs of the problematic devices
Look at this --> Finding a device's identification number
Post the IDs in your next message.

Hello everyone, well I tried to install the drivers on my HP!
Now my PC is stuck at the Windows startup, there must be some drivers blocking it, so I tried safe mode, it won't start and I can't restore to an earlier date. I tried booting with the Windows 7 installation CD and repairing the computer, that doesn't work either, so I reinstalled Windows 7 but it still gets stuck at the Windows startup! I don't know what I did but now it's really stuck! Can someone please help me?

Where does this version of Windows come from?
    An unofficial, modified version, etc...?

No, it's a Windows 7 Home Premium software from 2012! I think the software is fine! It's more the computer that's acting up! I can't even do a factory reset, I no longer have the recovery!

When I reinstall the driver, it says the Realtek network controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled, please plug the cable.
