Hello everyone,
I’m a newcomer to your community.
I must admit that I’m not a big expert in computers and the like... I do have some basic knowledge though!!!
I’m reaching out to you because I know I’ll find the solution here and I’m sure I’ll get some good advice!!!
To start, I have a two-story house, with a Livebox in the basement in the communication panel, I have RJ45 sockets in all the rooms of the house and a lot of Apple devices, not to mention...
My problem is that I have poor Wi-Fi reception in some rooms on the upper floor!!!
I’ve tried several Wi-Fi repeaters but I find that the connections are poor, they drop, and sometimes... my smartphones are connected to the Wi-Fi... but it’s like they aren’t connected (e.g.: unable to download my emails, or not receiving iMessages...)
I would like to switch to a product that would allow me to connect to an RJ45 socket on the upper floor and send Wi-Fi up there, but not just a simple Wi-Fi repeater...
And this is where I need your help!!!
There are so many products that I don’t know what to choose!!!
Thank you in advance for your help, which will be invaluable to me!!!

Best regards
Alex

    Hi,
so you’re looking for a wifi access point actually.
Since you’re looking to invest, I advise you to go for an 802.11ac which is very common in Apple products.
One day, if it hasn’t happened already, you’ll have fiber, and you’ll be happy to have an ethernet wiring and wifi ac.
A POE power supply would be a plus to avoid an additional power cable next to it.
Also, discretion can be an important criterion too.

Electricity consumption can also be an important point, but unfortunately, it’s rarely indicated; still, a POE generally consumes less, but there are losses in the wiring.
    Still,
professionals tend to use solutions of this kind for their wifi networks.
