Wi-Fi from an Ethernet wall outlet?

Hello,
I am a student and I live at the CROUS. The internet provider is Neo, and it only offers a wired connection. We connect to the wall with a regular Ethernet cable and link it to the PC. No box.
The thing is, I’m a bit tired of having a 10m cable lying around everywhere to connect my netbook.

So my question is: Is there a way, using a transmitting device for example, to turn this wired connection into a WiFi network (secured with a password, of course)?
I’ve seen that there are powerline adapters, but since I don’t have a box and I’m not familiar with the electrical system in the building, I’m not sure if this solution is feasible.

Thanks in advance,
