Hello,

I just bought a Philips SRU 3040 universal remote control to replace the faulty remote for my Philips combo. On my previous remote, I could change channels by pressing the left and right arrows simultaneously, but now I can't seem to adjust the channels.

Does anyone know the solution to this problem?

PS: I have already gone through the manual provided by Philips...

    Hello,
    don't follow the manual instructions! Just press and hold the TV button (for a television) until it blinks twice, then continue holding the standby button (still pointing at the television) and wait for the TV to turn off! As soon as that happens, immediately release the standby button. The TV will have automatically found the code for your television! It's your turn!

      I thank you for your advice; I was having problems with my remote control, and thanks to you, I can be more demanding in choosing my TV programs since I no longer have to get up from my couch, lol. Thanks again!

      I was able to turn on the remote, but I can't figure out how to tune the channels. It worked fine until we moved; now we're in a cable city and we can't seem to set them up.
      However, I have another TV where all the channels work perfectly, but I don't have a remote for it.
      Can I configure this one even though the brand doesn't match?

    Hello, I bought a remote control SRU 3040 with a 2 in Roman numerals, I can't set it up on the Denver TV, it just keeps blinking, that's all it does!!
    I have the codes, but it doesn't work.

        try if your TV is on: press and hold the TV button, it blinks 2 times after a while and then you quickly press the power button and hold it down until the TV turns off. After that, it works to turn on and off, and then for the settings, you need to use the "SHIFT" key in combination with the key marked "menu" on the box. You choose install.. with "shift and vol+" you navigate with "prog+ and prog-" you go to settings and again with "shift and vol+" on search to launch it, and when you find a channel, you memorize it with the same combination "shift and vol+" and so on, don't forget to also change the standard "L B/G L'".

    Well, thank you for the advice, but unfortunately, my TV does turn off after a while, but then it doesn't want to turn back on with the remote, and when I turn it back on with the button, I can't control the TV with the remote.

      For your DVD! Try cleaning the DVD player (the little thing that does the reading) with cotton. I had a CD player that did the same thing, and I cleaned it, and now it works great ;)

    Hello, I used the SRU 3040 remote control on my BlueSky television. Everything was working perfectly until then. Then, I temporarily used the remote with another type of TV. Since then, I have not been able to get my remote to work with my BlueSky television; I have tried all the codes, but nothing works... I also tried the TV manipulation where it blinks and then the POWER button, with no success. My television can only be turned on with a remote control, and the SRU 3040 is the only universal one I have. Thank you for your help if you have any ideas.

    Hello, does anyone happen to know (or through searching for stuff) the code for a smart stb? I have the same remote but I don't have a code! And my mother must have turned the papers to ashes!

    Is there a solution?
    I have the same problem :( I had to press the left and right arrows.
    I read that I needed to press shift and menu but that doesn't work.
    The shift key might not be working but I'm not sure.

    Hello everyone, I have the same problem, thetiptop is right, all the buttons work except the menu button which no longer works, so I can't search for my channels, I only have channel 5 that works. Help please.
