Hello,

I'm looking for a solution to initialize a replacement hard drive in a LaCie CloudBox.

I saw a user mention a possible CD.

My old drive crashed and LaCie no longer provides support for this product (they don't make NAS devices anymore).

If I had known, I would have made a 'ghost' of my drive when it was working because from what I've been able to see, it seems to be based on Linux.

So any CD or any 'ghost' would be welcome. Thank you.

PS: if 'ebonys' could read this...

    Hello
There is no LaCie solution to restore/reinstall the "proprietary" system on models like the CloudBox (white), Network Space vs1, 2D, 2Big, 5Big, etc....
The system being on the disk, in case of a crash/replacement of the disk, the LaCie software is dead

But there is an alternative "Firmware" called "fvdw-sl" that works very well as a permanent replacement for LaCie's Software.

    The site is http://plugout.net/

Implementation requires a bit of mastery of the PuTTY tool and "carefully" following the instructions to the letter.

But the result is there and very complete, see my screenshot on my Cloudbox with a 3TB HDD, which has been operational since 2018 and updated with version 18-3.

There is a "simulator" of the interface here: plugout.net/fvdw-sl/home.php

    See you later.
