monitor go to sleep

Question

Hello,

the screen of my laptop is broken, I want to display my laptop on a desktop screen but it shows "monitor go to sleep", while it works fine on the central unit. Please help me.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 62.0.3202.94

Yes, it is plugged in the right place with a VGA cable, I've already tried it and it worked, but since this morning, it's impossible.

I think it's the laptop's graphic resolution that is either higher or lower than the screen resolution, because on another laptop that displays on its built-in screen, the external screen still does not display, although it does display on the CPU.

you tested the UC screen on 2 different laptops, and the problem is the same if I understand correctly?

could it be that the screen "does not support" the graphics card of the laptop(s)?

what is the OS of the laptops and that of the UC?

I think that’s it, but how to increase the screen resolution when it doesn’t support the laptop's graphics card? Both laptops have Windows 7 as their OS.

re  g thinks that's it  I'm not sure, because you should have 1 image on the screen even if the resolution is not good  Does the "broken" laptop screen display nothing, or is it unreadable?  both laptops have win7 OS  and the CPU?  @+  -- the radiation level is higher at the employment center than at Chernobyl

The broken screen displays nothing but a white light with two lines, and the test with the keyboard using the Shift key shows that the laptop is indeed displaying; both laptops are running Windows 7.

Even with the laptop that has a working screen, the external screen does not display; it only shows with the CPU.

I just connected the external screen to an old W7 (laptop) upgraded to W10 during the free update, and both screens are working...

The display is showing on both screens, and I don’t see where your issue is coming from

With the Windows+P keys, I can choose the screen I want and the other options

OK, keep listening, but I just did it, displaying the external screen on another unit and the highest resolution is 1600*900 at 60Hz, but when I reconnect it to the laptop, it's the same thing.

On the CPU, is the screen connected to the graphics card or to the integrated graphics chipset?

Let me know if you have 2 VGA "connectors" on the CPU

However, on the laptop, you only have one VGA connection, and the screen should display
