No hover highlight on desktop icons

Good evening

Dell XPS 420, Windows 7 Home Premium and Firefox 57

Since I ran sfc /scannow, my desktop icons no longer highlight (gray box) when hovering the mouse pointer using installed themes. (If I use an Aero theme, I don't have this problem).
There is an issue only when hovering the mouse; everything else works normally.

Can someone more knowledgeable than me help me solve this little display problem?

    sfc /scannow had unpatched the 3 files of universal theme patcher. Once repatched, it works again
