I have an Orange box upstairs with a computer and a phone connected to the box. I would like to place a phone on the ground floor, and the T-jacks are available.

Hello,

You just need to have several phones connected to a base.

This base is connected to the router so that you have a handset in every room, similar to those.

For telephony, it's VOIP, so the phone (or base if there are several) needs to be connected to the router for it to work.

On the upstairs is a Telefunken model TQ 301 Pillow without an answerphone.
On the ground floor, there's an Alcatel XL365 voice with an answerphone; we want the answerphone.
The current connection is almost finished with my "personal" method.

My two phones are working very well, one upstairs and the other downstairs; the latter is recording messages properly. I set up the two phones in parallel using an existing line that was unused in the house's conduit.

Internet, TV, and the TV recorder are also working.

However, I would like to thank you for your advice; you could have been my lifeline if the setup I had planned hadn't worked.

So it needs to be connected to the box.
I propose to install the phone with the Alcatel XL375 answering machine upstairs by connecting it to the box.
Consequently, the Telefunken will be installed on the ground floor wherever you want it.
The only constraint is to be near a power outlet (the Telefunken base will only serve as a charger for its handset).
Procedure for registering the Telefunken handset on the Alcatel base.

Note: if not disconnecting the Telefunken handset from its original base poses a problem, it will always be time to disconnect it later. (the procedure is described on page 34 of the Telefunken manual: "Remove a handset")

It's very simple... I just experienced it, I had a phone connected via Ethernet to the Livebox in my bedroom and I wanted to have a phone in my living room! All you need to do is get a Wi-Fi handset and connect it to the Livebox via Wi-Fi! Forget about Duo and other handsets that tell you they must be identical... that's false! The sellers are either unaware or they are lying (which I hope is not the case!). And it works very well, both ring at the same time and operate together.
The phone in my bedroom is a Sagemcom and the one in my living room is an Allure from Orange.

Hello,
A few clarifications:
- The handset connected to the box is not Ethernet but wired with an RJ11 plug (which looks like an RJ45 but has only 2 wires)
- The handset is not Wi-Fi but DECT like all cordless phones on the market.
- Cordless handsets must not be identical in order to pair. All DECT devices can pair with any DECT base (including ADSL, VDSL, or Fiber boxes).
- You were able to pair this Orange handset with your Livebox because you have a Livebox Play, Livebox 4, or Livebox Pro V3.
The Livebox acts as a DECT base. It can accommodate up to 4 additional handsets plus the one connected via wire.
This would not have been possible with a Livebox 2 (which does not have DECT functionality).

Thank you for this clarification, indeed it is my Livebox-Play that is connected via Ethernet. As for the rest, I completely trust you since I am not a specialist myself! My phone is connected via an RJ-11/RJ-45 extension to the Livebox.
In any case, all the professionals wanted to provide me with a "Duo" when it's not necessary!
