Good evening,
So, for several days my PC has been overwhelmed with ads. I've been going on forums to find out how to get rid of them! I followed some advice, particularly one that suggested uninstalling Avast. To do this, I had to download an uninstallation software... And then restart my PC in safe mode. And that's where the drama begins, I'm stuck because, on the welcome screen, it tells me "incorrect password!"
I restarted. Pressed all the F1, F2,... I did ctrl alt delete...
My password is composed of numbers so it's not a matter of QWERTY/AZERTY.
Anyway, I'm stuck! By the way, it's an HP Envy notebook running Windows 10.
Thank you for your help!

""And I can't restore because I don't have access to anything, I'm stuck on the home page where you enter your password!"
"Turn off the computer twice during the Windows loading.
It will enter repair mode which will also give access to the advanced system recovery options.......launch a system restore to revert to a previous Windows configuration."
That way you'll know you don't need to have Windows open to attempt a restore to a later date."

Thanks, great! After F8 I used F9, I think, after trying everything (F1 to F7) it worked!
Great!
