Hello everyone,

So I'm reaching out because I'm having an issue with my printer, which is a Canon MG3550 (as the title suggests ^^), and it turns out my knowledge in this area is quite limited.

Having not used it for a while, the prints made since are no longer of good quality (stripes, fading, mixed colors, etc...) in short, all the symptoms of dried ink that clogs the printer's nozzles, since the cartridges are new.

I therefore bought some ink solvent to clean the nozzles, but unlike many printers, it seems this one is not designed to be disassembled (impossible to access the print head without dismantling three-quarters of the printer...)

Moreover, even seeing this head, it's impossible to distinguish this famous nozzle... to be honest, it looks like the ink cartridges directly project the ink onto the paper.

Anyway, if anyone has information on the subject, has an idea and/or has encountered this case before, I'm open to any advice and opinions ;)

P.S: I put some solvent on some sort of combs that are supposed to be used during the cleaning performed through Windows, I'm waiting for it to dry before trying.

P.S 2: it also seems there is a small reservoir with little sponges, could it be possible that the printer is equipped with such a system?

If these are cartridges that include the print head, there is no other solution than to clean the head (below) with a lint-free cloth and your solvent, then wipe them... repeat the operation several times to eliminate all dried deposits.

Then initiate head cleaning cycles, also several times...

The pads you see where the heads park are the pads that collect the ink during the cleaning of the nozzles, which is redirected to the recovery tray under the machine.

Also clean the connector located on the cartridge

But the simplest might be to put in a set of new cartridges...

Hello,

Indeed, I assumed that everything was in the cartridge, but if you confirm it to me, I understand better ;)

So the problem does indeed come from the cartridges, it’s true that I refill them for cost reasons, so it’s probably been clogged for a while...

In any case, thank you for your response, I will therefore try to clean all that, and if the problem persists, I will have no choice but to buy new cartridges.
