Question

Hello,
My brand new Brother 340 CW printer has printed a maximum of twenty pages with the original cartridges. After a few poorly printed sheets, then completely blank ones, I changed to generic cartridges. A disastrous mistake! The print head is very clogged. Multiple cleanings: not enough. I tried disassembling the print head: failure.
Does anyone have a solution?
Are there cleaning cartridges available? (I couldn't find any at my usual vendor)

EUREKA !

It's magical, unclogging printer nozzles with vinegar. I had the same problem as many, no more yellow with my Brother DCP-110C printer.
Ready to go buy a new printer, then I stumbled upon this forum where it talks about unclogging nozzles with a syringe and vinegar or alcohol!
I gave it a shot (about 2.5 ml) injected into that little tube at the bottom of the cartridge holder, then cleaned the heads several times until the printed test patterns were good.
And it works perfectly. My printer has regained its colors.

However, I don't know where the 2.5 ml of vinegar went!! Evaporated? Mixed with the ink? Mystery, but who cares, the important thing is that it works.

I just tried it on my Brother DCP 330C printer, and I was about to throw it away and dismantle it, cleaning it by tilting it as I didn't have syringes.

It took me a bit of time, but it works now.

I had quite a few issues with my Brother printer one day I came across this reliable and competent website link https://www.bugey-boutique.com/ and to my surprise the technical support very kindly explained to me that to be worry-free with a Brother, all you need to do is refill the empty cartridges or acquire refillable empty cartridges (available for sale on the site) either with white vinegar or cleaning solution for the nozzles and replace the ink cartridges from time to time with those containing the cleaning solution and thus do a good cleaning since then I refill the cartridges myself and everything is great

I have exactly the same problem with my Brother DCP 165 c from 2008, impossible to print with the new black cartridge bought this afternoon. It's not a problem with drivers or the cartridge, but listen carefully, a program IS EMBEDDED in an electronic component of our Brother printers to force us to go to a dealer and after-sales service. At my place too (Brother DCP 770CW) the yellow color is not working anymore. I have tried several proposed solutions, but so far none have worked (cleaning cartridges, vinegar...) What a hassle and waste of time.

Hello, I recently had the same problem that I managed to solve!

You just need to get a hospital syringe and 90° alcohol (denatured alcohol).

Remove all the cartridges, fill the syringe with alcohol, and just inject a little into each head (if it overflows, that's normal, clean it roughly with a cotton swab).

Replace all the cartridges and run a cleaning cycle (you can do this by pressing the "Ink Management" button on the front).

Let it sit for a bit, then try printing. It may be necessary to repeat the operation a second time if the results are not satisfactory.

Hello everyone,

The only proper method to clean the nozzles of a BROTHER printer (inkjet of course) is at this address:

Everything else is just nonsense, misinformation, and fluff.

The cleaning liquid can potentially be replaced by demineralized water (for irons). But certainly not with rubbing alcohol or vinegar. Rubbing alcohol will corrode the ink delivery pipes and vinegar will permanently mess up the nozzles.

Isopropyl alcohol might be suitable in a pinch. You've been warned. But if you're lucky, don't brag, the wheel turns.

Another important point: it does not show in the video but cleaning nozzles can take a VERY long time. The last stubborn nozzle, among the 60 to 360 nozzles per color, can take weeks to unclog.

At the same time, I've repaired only about twenty printers and I've ruined five or six. So... that doesn't make me an expert.... Except compared to you, of course!!!

It seems to me that now you know what to do: be wary of information found on interchosepasnet, of misinformation and fluff. Stay "critical," in the true sense of the word. And especially if the information comes from people who consider themselves authorized, but who have no experience or expertise.

As for the other contributors, I won't congratulate them... not all of them anyway!!!!

White vinegar and roux work for many things...

Roux costs about 25 cents per liter at Leaderprice.

White vinegar costs about 65 cents per liter.

You can whiten your teeth and remove stains from cigarettes, spices, tea, and coffee using white vinegar by rubbing your teeth with a cotton pad soaked in the product.

Once a month, run a complete wash cycle at 60 degrees for your washing machine with 1 liter of brown vinegar only... the drum will be as good as new every time without limescale...

Add white or brown vinegar to your laundry depending on its color. This disinfects the laundry and gives it a nice scent.

Spray the faucets in the bathroom and sink, let it sit for a while, and scrub with baking soda.... dazzling!

Sore throat in winter? Don't waste money unnecessarily at the pharmacy... gargle with warm water, salt, and 2 cm of brown vinegar... the vinegar kills the bacteria that cause sore throats and the salt cauterizes the small scratches on the throat wall....

Vinegar can also serve as an antiseptic for small wounds at home before rushing to the pharmacy.
