Connecting EQ to an amplifier. Solved

Question

Hello everyone!  So, I have a JVC JA-S11 which seemingly has no problems (it was serviced 6 months ago). I just bought a JVC equalizer, a SEA 50, at a garage sale yesterday. I found the manual for the SEA 50 online and made the following connections: from the SEA output of the EQ to the TAPE1 input of the amp. The problem is that when I play sound, I can't seem to find the EQ function...

It's exactly the connection I made, to the tape1 input at the back of the amp (the JA S11 also having a Tape2 at the front). But it doesn't change anything; maybe I made a mistake with my selection on the front knobs.  At the front of the amp, there are two selectors, one labeled Dubbing (1>2 source and 2>1) and the other monitor 1 source and 2. Both are currently set to source. When I adjust the dubbing, it doesn't change anything, but if I switch the source selector to 1 or 2, there's no sound, so I have to leave it on source...

So after playing with the selectors, we really had to set the monitoring to 1 and not leave it on source, which triggers the Tape1 circuit... and a good blow-out and a check-up wouldn't hurt this EQ that didn't activate the first time... anyway, thanks for your answers! :)
