Hello,

I'm here today to seek help.
For the past few days, the screen of my laptop (Acer E1-570) has not been turning on. I connected my computer to another screen and there was no problem, so I'm led to believe that my PC has a backlight issue. I've researched a lot on various forums and it seems to be an inverter problem...
How can I tell if the problem is with the inverter or the screen?
Moreover, after disassembling my screen and removing the panel, the inverter seems to be directly linked to the panel, which makes me inclined to buy a new one.
The exact model number of my computer is: Acer E1-570 33214G50Mnsk
I've found screens with this model number online, but I also found a cheaper one with this reference: ACER ASPIRE E1-570-33214G1TMNKK
My final question is, is the screen mentioned above compatible with my computer?
I don't know much about computers, I'm really sorry but I'm doing my best :)

Adrien.

Hello,

If you're a skilled and meticulous handyman, you could change only the backlight of the panel for a few euros..

-- Do you know the reference of the panel..?? Is it LED or not..??

-- With the screen removed from the cover, you can see the lighting in the dimness, from the back of the screen.

--- If the LCD panel is working, by shining a flashlight at an angle, you can make out what's displayed on the screen...

So, check all that out and reply..

Attention... you can't say that the screen displays anything; you can barely make out that something is displayed underneath... especially if it moves... it's better to have a text page, but definitely not a video..

Otherwise, you haven't answered whether the backlight turns on..? looking at the back of the screen, in dim light, immediately upon turning it on...

Because it may not be a backlight issue..

The screen is for sale here https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/ecran-pc/dalle-ecran-led-15-6-b156xw04-v-8/f-107100401-auc4896200058400.html with €9 shipping.

and here https://www.laptopscreen.com/French/screen-part-number/B156XW04~V.8/ with $12 shipping

https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Dalle-Ecran-15-6-LED-type-B156XW04-V-8-pour-ordinateur-portable-/181427393624

But if it's the LED transformer (inverter) that is dead, it is not included in that and the failure will still be there

Instructional video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEWJDWFMZtc

For the Backlight inverter, you would need the references written on it or a clear photo, it should be in the lid, underneath the screen...

Look carefully, it may also simply be unplugged or not seated properly, the same goes for the connection at the back of the screen; it's a common issue.

If you're not handy, find a good friend who is...!

Otherwise, head to a repair shop.

But how can I tell if the problem comes from the dead LEDs?
It would cost me more at a repair shop, wouldn't it?

Yes, the repairman is more expensive than if you do it yourself...

But if you don't feel capable, you have no choice; moreover, he will have to guarantee a minimum of his work...

The backlight LEDs can't all be dead at the same time...

However, I asked you questions aimed at clearly distinguishing each thing separately for a diagnosis... You didn't answer them in the previous post... or I already told you that you hadn't answered the one before that either... the aim was to respond to the question you ask here...

That's how we can know... if you don't respond, I'm not going to keep asking you for answers... It's you who is asking for help...

Incredible! I checked if the cable that connected the panel was correctly plugged in and actually, it wasn't! I reconnected it and now my screen works again! Thank you very much for your help! Problem solved!

Well, that's wonderful, and without having to spend anything..

That was part of my comments in my Post No. 3 so you see, nothing should be overlooked and each point should be checked one by one...

Don’t forget to properly reposition the tape that blocks the connection cables, it prevents them from disconnecting... at least for longer.

So the issue is resolved..?

So no, I am a novice in DIY.
The model number of the panel is: B156XW04V8 and yes the screen is LED.
I removed the cover, shone a light at an angle but the screen remains black, nothing is displayed.
Thank you for your help.
