Hello,
I recently bought an ASUS ROG Laptop (i7-6700HQ/GeForce960M) and an HP Viséo 190WA monitor as a second screen.
To connect my monitor to the laptop, I purchased an HDMI/VGA adapter, which is connected to the monitor's VGA cable, but the monitor displays "Unsupported Frequency." (noting that I do not have a VGA port on my laptop)
I have already changed the resolution settings down to 800*600, but nothing works to get my second screen to function.
Thank you for your help.
Jérémy

Hello,
Your 2009 screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768 at 60 Hz frequency, no higher.
The problem is that your adapter is designed to provide 1920*1080p using the HDMI source.
At the first startup, it will definitely be out of frequency and resolution.
Adjust the size of the second screen then restart the PC.
If the settings do not change at each startup of the screen, there’s no reason it shouldn’t work. Be careful, 60 hertz maximum.
Best regards

First of all, thank you for your help!
I tried safe mode to set up the screen, but it doesn't work. I can't get both screens to work at the same time; it's either the laptop screen or the external monitor. I can't choose the resolution of the screen in the Advanced display settings.
I don't know where to adjust the refresh rate??
Thank you
Jérémy
Thank you very much! I've been struggling for two days! (However, I also had to change the refresh rate for it to work!)
