Hello,
I just purchased a headset to listen to TV shows. I installed it according to the manual. I get no sound except for background noise. Previously, I was using a SENNHEISER Set T 55 without any issues. I have kept my PHILIPS television, which I specifically bought so that the sound wouldn’t be cut off due to the headset. My set has a headphone jack.
Could you help me connect my headset?
Thank you in advance

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 57.0.2987.98

Hello,
So you connect your headphones to the headphone jack 3.5 of your TV that doesn't automatically turn off the speakers, is that right?

Good evening,
Thank you Andy 31200 for your response. The model of my TV is: 32PFL 7685 H/12.
I connected the headset to the headphone jack with the cable provided with the equipment. I’m not sure if it’s a 3.5mm jack. The one I've used has a light blue plug on one end. I successfully tried the same setup with a headset from Boulanger Essential and another from Geemarc. Their poor quality forced me to choose SENNHEISER.
Have a good evening and thanks again.

Hello,
Thank you again for your response. With the headphones I had, in addition to the direct connection cable, there were the corresponding jack plugs as per the sketch. I will find the store that sold me the headphones this morning, and depending on what they say, I will keep you updated. A test at the seller's would be the least they could do. I must admit I hadn’t thought of jojola guitar’s suggestion. I’m sure the headphones should work on my TV.
Have a good day.

Good evening,
If the subject interests you, I managed to find the malfunction thanks to the technician vendor. It was simply a connection error. The colors of the connectors must be respected. The end of the cable (blue) with the connector (blue) of the source box and the other end (black) into the television.
My issue has disappeared this way.

Hello.

So all's well that ends well!

It seemed a bit surprising to me that this headset had a problem because SENNHEISER is a reputable brand. All their equipment goes through a quality control workshop before packaging. It might just be that they had a careless technician, but I think that must be very rare.

Take care . . . Bye

Here are 3.5mm jack connectors;

If other headphones work, could it be that the SENNHEISER is defective?

Hello.

Our friend might try this headset on his PC. If it doesn't work there either, this headset surely has a problem.

This is just a suggestion . . . Cheers

It is no use running; you have to start on time . . .

Hello,
The headset works at the retailer when connected to a mobile phone. I was able to listen to music. It's a matter of positioning it on the right channel. However, it hasn't been tested on a television. At my place, nothing has changed; it doesn't work on my television or on the computer. As a final attempt, a technician is supposed to come this week. After that, it will get complicated if I don't get any results. Either a standard exchange or another model of headset suitable for television.
To be continued.
