Hello,

No matter which site I visit that requires a login, I receive this message: "This connection is not secure. The credentials entered here could be compromised. Learn more"

Here is the link to the "learn more" section: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Mozilla-Support-English/ct-p/Mozilla-EN

I have tried looking at help forums, uninstalling my antivirus (Avast) and reinstalling it, the same goes for the browser (Firefox), but absolutely nothing works.

I am now out of ideas and I am posting here so that someone can shed some light on my situation.

Thank you in advance.

Baba

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 52.0

I can understand the interest in "forcing" the issue on sites that do not protect their forms.

However, in this case, Firefox should allow users the choice to enable or disable such warning messages.

There are still quite a few non-secure sites, just as a good majority of extranet tools in companies. These warnings stem from a good principle, but they disrupt our habits, especially when we know that things won't move any faster for everything to be fully https everywhere.

In the meantime, it is possible to disable these messages, but be aware that you are doing this knowing the risks (critical sites like your bank must be in https, forums, and extranets are less critical):

    In the Firefox address bar:
    type: about:config
    search for: insecure
on security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled right-click "Toggle" to set its value to "false" this key just disables the warning message that appears at the login and password fields.

You can also disable the security.insecure_password.ui.enabled key to no longer receive the security alert in the top left.

Hello and thank you very much for the tip. On a corporate intranet with LAN-only connections, this message is not very helpful and I've received several calls from surprised users. There should be an option to ignore it, too bad.
