Beware of those who speak well of Photobox, for half of them are their own employees.

Here is my experience with these so-called photography professionals; for my part, I will never go to them again.

Personally, I was attracted by a free trial. The shipping costs were to be paid, so far, so good.
I then ordered a print of 30 photos. I was of course charged in less than fifteen minutes.
Then nothing for a month...

I called customer service, their response was "I swear to you, my dear sir, we sent it to you yesterday."
I waited another week. I called them again and threatened to file a complaint with the fraud department and to take action in the small claims court, and lo and behold, I was no longer treated as a mere procedure to follow on the customer service script.
In short, they offered to reprint "at their expense" (as if they were so generous) my photos.

I received them: a pitiful and battered quality box, dark photos with stains, colors that come from who knows where... With my HP 1320, I might have had better results.

Never again.

Personally, I've heard good things about photo books, but for prints, I recommend lisphoto.com. I've been ordering from them ever since I had issues with another competitor, and honestly, as someone who values quality and fast delivery, I'm very satisfied.

I find the comments a bit harsh. I've never had any issues with them.
When I'm not happy with a product, I contact them and we always find a solution.

Photobox seems like a beautiful scam to me. Unable to meet delivery deadlines, no news from them for weeks (unless you contact them... then a so-called director personally handles your order. Yeah right!), credit card charged quickly, order tracking on the site impossible, etc. I'm now at three weeks of waiting, having conversed with so-called charming ladies with sweet names like Béatrice and Morgane (I even wonder if it's not a furry Gustave responding under different identities to calm things down)... Am I going to receive what I ordered? A mystery. Still, I advise you against this company which will soon hear from me in a way other than by phone or email.

Hello, so I've already uploaded my photos twice on this site and I wasn't disappointed, but for a few days now I've purchased a package and since then I can't log into the site, but they've successfully charged my account, so beware!!!

To test, you can always use their free photo printing offer. It allows you to get free photos for your first order with no commitment. You will find the promo code here:

http://www.developpement-gratuit.fr/labo/Photobox.html

And it is also valid for most photo labs that offer free trial deals.

Well, I was about to place an order for wedding thank you cards, but I will look elsewhere. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

NE COMMAND EVER ON PHOTOBOX!!! The promotions are bogus, then when I uploaded photos and checked the cropping before validating the cart, I realized that half of the photos had been duplicated with the faces zoomed in (as if cropping a photo precisely on the faces of the people). It's a BIG SCAM, I took a long time to realize it because the duplicated photos are often not next to the originals!!! In the end, I had more than 500 photos when I had uploaded about 300. Once I spent two hours of my time deleting all the duplicated photos from the site, I finally validated my order and then... "errors"!! I didn't understand why because a gray page appeared. I called (15 cents per minute) and they told me that I had supposedly low-quality photos (I find these photos very good) and that I would have to delete or retouch them in order to validate my cart!! CONCLUSION: SCAM.

I've been using Photoways for several years (books, posters, posters, etc.) without any issues! No scams, but you need to know how to use the site, and a photo that looks good to you may be too compressed; you should upload uncompressed photos, otherwise the print quality will be poor.
P.S.: I don't work at Photoways, I'm just a customer (from several brands) in my small village in Lower Normandy!

Having developed the same photos elsewhere, the "photos" I received from Photobox.fr were of abysmal quality. The paper used is not really photo paper. There is a big problem with the colors: washed out colors that differ from the original hues. Large pixels appear on quite a few photos.

I wouldn't describe the product I received as "photo development," but rather as a failed attempt to print images on low-quality paper.

In short, huge disappointment. Site to avoid. Next time, I'll go to a specialized store. It will be faster, and the result (having tested it) will be real photos.

I developed, for my first order, a pack of 710 photos, the photos are of good quality. The main issue is really the cropping; sometimes the photos are poorly centered even though the original photo had a good framing. It’s not worth a real photographer, but for the price, it’s reasonable.

If you want beautiful albums, especially for landscapes, in panoramic format on two pages without a separation in the middle, try Fuji Photogenie! It's magnificent and I have no shares!!!!!!

When I saw the Photobox promotion: "your first photo book free," I thought it was for me!
And cherry on top, the same promo says - and with no asterisk other than it must be your first order - that the book can be from 26 to 100 pages => Perfect for having a nice memento of my vacation!!
Except that the software for creating the book is terrible: the layout is very difficult because the pages appear very small, the text areas are unmodifiable,... in short, I spent hours making my book but hey, if it's free, I can understand (they won't get me twice, I thought) and when I went to order, SURPRISE: I had to pay 55 Euros!!! And then I thought it was impossible to throw away all the work I did :-(
I contacted customer service 4 times and they didn't want to hear anything, IN FACT WHAT WAS FREE WAS ONLY THE FIRST 26 PAGES!!! In their ad, they just say the book is worth €32.95 but don’t mention the number of pages!
But their ad didn't say that, too many customers would only make 26 pages!!! Especially since when you add pages to the books, they don’t say what the associated cost is!! That would be too honest!
Not a single commercial gesture :-((((
I find this method dishonest and I hope many of you will read me to avoid being misled and to limit yourselves to 26 pages.

A very disappointed internet user..

I agree, I've been through the same thing. After 5 hours of creating, you don't want to stop. It is indeed a scam.

Hello, well I guess I should have read the comments before! Because for me, it's been a week since I've been waiting for my order, which has been redone twice, because it was impossible to validate the cart! I've contacted customer service by email and still no response, I don't know where my order is, but I mainly hope that the photos won't accidentally be put online! (photo hacking) Well, I'm waiting, but I'm already on edge... since June 17 they have been saying on the order tracking "in production," they are not quick, it's the 22nd and still the same message, shouldn't they hire someone? Well, I promise never again PHOTOBOX, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP...

Meh, not very convinced by these reviews. If we're getting into a photo book, it's because we want to, not just because we've seen an offer... I've been a customer (not an employee) of Photobox for a few years (it was called pixdiscount back then) and I'm generally satisfied. That said, I agree that their book creation interface is quite average and the site is not optimal in terms of navigation.
Otherwise, for the quality of the classic prints (I don't develop in budget), no problem.
What annoys me the most are the awful promotional offers that force us to wait for the right deal to enjoy a decent price (and we feel like we’ve been had when we order without a deal).

I had bought an important package of prints. I haven't used it all... not noticing that it was only valid for a year!!!! And I have 230 prints left. I protested in vain and was thrown out with nothing to show for it. This company is not at all customer-oriented.
TO AVOID!!!!

Hello,

I have been using Photoways for years, which is part of Photobox, and recently Photobox (the same site as Photoways, but different promotions at the same time, so it's either one or the other).

Regarding quality, no issues at all (Photos taken with a Nikon D300 shot in RAW and processed with Capture NX to make full-resolution JPEGs). Very good colors.

Regarding delivery times, never had any problems; additionally, once I received my order twice because they must have detected an issue on the production line and sent out an entire series at their expense to be sure.

As for objects: very professional and sturdy photo book (unlike foto.com for example), I have already made several types for different occasions.
Cards and invitations have been no problem either. I have always received everything on time!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a site.

Well, I can only recommend this site: ease of transfer and editing, quality of prints, very fast shipping +++, very good value for money (I have made comparisons), no issues with Photobox.

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, I confirm the various negative reviews about this site. I received a discovery offer for a free 30X40 collage, with only the shipping fee of €6 to pay instead of around €16. This was very appealing for a trial. The transfer and usage of the photos on the site went very smoothly. The delivery was very fast. However, the product delivered was damaged! It had been poorly rolled and there were very marked creases present on the collage. So I contacted customer service directly through the site to request a new poster. No news!! Worse, I received a customer satisfaction follow-up form after this purchase where I explained my problem again, and still no news. This clearly shows the indifference and lack of follow-up from customer service.
If they don't want to respond to their customers, they would be better off saving money and time by not sending out forms to ask for users' opinions on their site.
I strongly advise against this site as one would expect quality work during promotional offers to attract customers, but that is not the case. Imagine if you paid the full price and had a problem!! Why would they care about you when you footed the bill!! It’s even less interesting for them.
In summary, move on and look elsewhere.

After placing our first order in the summer, we received our photos 20 days later..... well, it was summer vacation....
However, this time we have been waiting for another 20 days (second order placed on 20.11.09) and we are fed up, so we are boycotting the site!!! Enough is enough! Nothing beats a good shop, real contact and ... real results! Bye!

I completely agree. I too will go back to real photographers who actually develop photos and who are only paid once the product is received by the client.
I had successful first experiences with Photobox, but since this summer, it’s been a disaster. I order standard prints and receive eco prints, but of course I pay the price for standard prints.
And for Christmas, I ordered 2 photo books: one luxury and one prestige. I was charged within 3-4 days after my order, and I received an email saying my order had been shipped, but then I realized those were just automated messages and my books hadn’t even been processed yet. After 9 working days, I contacted customer service, who hung up on me the first time. On the second call, the person, very arrogant, didn’t resolve my issue and just kept repeating that there was nothing she could do and that the usual 9 working days had turned into 13 days during the holiday season. Poor things, we have to understand they’re overwhelmed... but that’s not my problem!!! On my third call, a solution was found for the luxury book, but still nothing for the prestige one that I am still waiting for.
This afternoon, I checked my account and there: the account emptied at the hands of Photobox. My albums (with 200 uploaded photos) deleted, my creations vanished, and the cherry on top: order history EMPTY. No trace of my orders left.
At this point, this is no longer just a simple mistake or an overload of orders during the holiday season but outright theft. I could have explained and excused a delay, but now I consider Photobox to be a big scam.

As a customer for several years, thanks to a referral from my son, I can say that I am satisfied with Photobox; except for my second to last order. Indeed, I had ordered an Eco photo pack as usual and it was the first time I did not have the number of the original photo on the back, which annoys me a lot because I find it very practical, especially if someone wants to re-order it while viewing it.
Anyway, I sent an email and was told that this is not done for Eco photos (strange, this was the first time I didn’t have them!!!). It’s true that sometimes the colors of some photos are not very nice but that will really concern a minimum of photos. Following this, I actually ordered elsewhere and it was a complete disaster. Indeed, you can always go to the local photographer, but the prices will definitely not be the same. It’s always the same: it’s a choice to make. That said, I went back to Photobox and ordered a photo pack and a book pack. The photo books I ordered for the first time in April 2009 really pleased me.

And I swear I don’t work for Photobox!!!!!

I have been a customer at Photobox for 4 years, always well served, always on time, always of good quality, it's easy to do, it's even a pleasure, I don't understand
all these dissatisfied people!!! I don't work at Photobox either, fortunately for
them, there are only a few rare grumblers, I'm sure they have many customers as
satisfied as I am, understood!!!!

Those who "swear they don't work at Photobox" are lying very badly! XD Anyway, I have a free offer from them and I'm really not sure I want to take it at the moment. It feels a bit like a scam.

Hello.
I had major issues with Photobox.
Some photos were poorly cropped for printing.
The people I spoke to on the phone didn’t understand anything I was explaining...
Finally, after hours spent sending emails and making calls, I managed to get someone who acknowledged their mistake.
They then credited my account so I could reorder the prints... but I had to pay the shipping fees again... which I had already paid the first time.... not to mention the additional costs I incurred to resend the prints....
In short, an endless story, and €50 down the drain!
Not to mention the time and energy wasted.
Thanks, Photobox!!!!!!!!!

It's a scam!
I placed an order on December 17 for a Christmas gift. Half of the homepage of the site indicated that delivery of orders was guaranteed for Christmas. According to the site, the order was supposed to be shipped on the 20th, yet here we are on the 23rd and the post office still hasn't received my package. In fact, Photobox is able to create tracking numbers, then they send the packages to the post office whenever they feel like it. I know that my package is still in their premises (since it hasn't been processed by Colliposte yet) and they're making me believe it was sent. This is unacceptable. This is misleading advertising.
Moreover, I tried to contact them and after waiting for 10 minutes (at 15 cents a minute) for someone to respond, they cut off the call.
Kudos to their customer service!

Hello,
I ordered calendars, guaranteed delivery before Christmas; production started on December 28: great! I asked them for explanations, even a refund, but it's radio silence; never again for me either!

Hello,
I had custom calendars made by them; they were promised before Christmas and were made on ... December 28th. I am delighted because they arrived today.
I emailed them, but there was no response, nor any refund obviously; they are liars, even though I find the calendars to be of good quality, I won't use their services again.

Hello
Personally, I find that the value for money is very disappointing, even when taking advantage of promotions. The site is very complicated, and photo books are particularly difficult to create, considering that the layout options are very limited... The paper of the photo books is frankly terrible!!! So there’s not much point in making a photo book...
And the customer service is frankly incompetent.

Hello,
I have been ordering different products from the Photobox site for a long time and I am very satisfied. The quality-price ratio is very good. I recommend this site.

Hello,
Waiting for an order placed on August 8, canceled on August 24 due to a lost package, reordered on that same date and received ONLY on September 1 instead of the announced August 26, I strongly advise against using the Photobox site for ordering photo prints.

I ordered a photo book for my family as a Christmas gift; it arrived after a week of production and the shipping time from the post office. The book is very nice, the photos are well printed, etc...
I also ordered two photo mugs; the photos seemed maybe a little faded and small, but otherwise I am very satisfied!
Thank you,

Like many people in this post, I do not recommend Photobox at all. For an order of 3 photo books that were supposed to arrive well before Christmas, they only shipped one with a 7-day delay. Then nothing more. I contacted them via chat, and they assured me that everything was fine. Ultimately, after Christmas had passed, I contacted them once again (through chat since their phone service oddly didn’t recognize my order number) and they finally decided to ship the rest of the order - which had of course been charged to my account quite some time ago...

When I then asked for a gesture of goodwill for ruining Christmas for two people who found themselves without gifts despite their commitments, they credited me with 30 classic prints... Shipping costs were on me, of course. Nice for an order of over €100...

I therefore strongly advise against it!!!

Hello,
I have been ordering from this site for many years and I have never had a problem. I ordered calendars for Christmas and had photos developed; these calendars were gifts, and people appreciated them very much. Also, I think it is necessary to allow for additional delivery time beyond what they say on the site, and the shipping costs are high.
Best regards.

Alright: the shipping costs are high. For the rest, I also agree, photo books and calendars make highly appreciated gifts (Grandmas are eagerly waiting for them) and are generally of good quality (if the photos are good, of course!).

All these violently critical comments leave me perplexed: what if they came from the competition????????????????
