Hi,
I have a new computer running Windows 10 (64b).
I have a Canon Canoscan 5000F scanner that’s not brand new.
I tried to install it, but no driver is available.
(Well, plenty of sites offer a driver, but Canon's website says there isn’t one for Win 10.)
Here’s what Canon says:
Unfortunately, your device is no longer supported under the selected operating system. Feel free to check our current range of products.
This product is compatible with the following operating systems:
Windows Vista (32-bit)
Windows XP (32-bit)
Windows 2000 (32-bit)
What can I do to be able to use it?
Thanks.

no but we must be dreaming
the ploutocratic-capitalist dictatorship that enslaves its CONsumers and its supporters who encourage continued pollution of the planet by buying equipment that works but that the other dictatorship, as they support each other, of microchip and its Windows monopoly associated with industrial ploutocrats, to push consumption.
install linux and you will be able to use your scanner.
definitely do not buy a new scanner
you need to learn to use your head and not blindly listen to the answers of idiots who tell you I quote: "that's right you have to buy a new scanner."
it's intentional that your scanner driver doesn’t work on win 10.
it allows microsoft to get a check from printer scanner manufacturers, in short all pc peripherals, so that you in the end continue to be treated like a dairy cow by buying equipment that you already own AND still works.
to this they will push their malice with planned obsolescence so that the equipment doesn’t last long forcing you to constantly repurchase the same gadgets it’s endless ploutocratic inhumanism and the violation of nature pollution the pillaging of natural resources to produce more and more.
I am in the same situation with my old canon scanner that works, and this corrupt company like the others, does not want to develop new drivers simply to install on win10,
all this to push us to buy from them or their accomplices, they are all in the same craziness of planned obsolescence and unavailable drivers, and they shamelessly see CONsumers switching from one brand to another.
