Creating a simple volume? Solved

Question

Hello everyone,
I've just received my computer, which has an SSD and an HDD. And the store where I bought it gave me these steps for initializing my HDD (the SSD is already initialized as I installed Windows on it, it's the primary drive):
"Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > New Simple Volume > Next."
However, when I get to "Storage," I can't find the "New Simple Volume" button.
Could you please help me? I found nothing on the forums.

Good evening...

Try this: start, right click on the computer, manage, disk management, right click on your HDD and "new simple volume" or "new partition"... if you don't see that, you'll probably need to format it first...

Enter the BIOS by repeatedly pressing F2 or Delete as soon as you power on, to see if it's there...
In the disk management, are you sure it's not there?
How many GB is this HDD...maybe you need to download a driver....

I will check the BIOS.
In disk management, I don't see it. However, I went to the Device Manager, and it's there. Also, I typed "storage" in the Windows 10 settings (not the control panel) and it appears under "Manage Storage Spaces". Here are two screenshots:

@romaincotillard, I join @poupougne13 (hi @poupougne13 :) ) and I think there might still be one more option to check.

If the Device Manager sees and recognizes the internal 1TB HDD, we could consider calling (so to speak) the newly-installed hardware. This is a command to be entered via the command prompt. Don’t hesitate to try: access the command prompt (admin) > type diskpart > hit Enter > type rescan > hit Enter. Do you see the HDD in Disk Management then (restart your PC if necessary, please).

Hello to you

If you look at the first photo of post #4, you'll see that the disk is indeed there, but registered as storage space.
This allows you to "extend" another disk, it's managed by the OS.
Personally, I don't like it much.
You'll need to remove it from there.
Go to the storage space, like in post #4

Follow this tutorial:

Remove the disk from the storage space.

Then, go to the disk management, it should appear there.
Create the partitions as you wish...
