my printer says "offline" (?) and refuses to print Solved

Question

Hello, Since yesterday my printer has been acting up, refusing to print documents from my computer as well as from my wife's... When I go to the control panel, it says "HP Deskjet 300 Series - printer offline." Yet nothing has changed, everything is in order, checked, and of course, the printer is on. We have been looking without finding anything that could have changed? We have been using this HP Deskjet F380 together without too many issues for many years, my computer is running Windows 7 and yours is on XP. We urgently need to print a few important documents and suddenly there’s a malfunction that doesn't seem permanent...? Thank you for your advice, with our best wishes for 2017.

The problem is that if you can't figure it out with the explanations provided... how old is your printer?? ... it might have a real issue and you’re going to waste a lot of time for little to no results... or even none at all! Oops, what speed! Yes Sergio, my device is 10 years old and especially me, a stubborn 71-year-old who likes to dabble in everything "Paddy fixes everything". Well, enough joking, we're going to connect using the original HP USB cable, the device was still working perfectly yesterday when my Pearl used it, although there were 2 or 3 hiccups when printing color labels.... (between us, I often have a connection issue after she has used it but if... it's a revolution!) For your Windows 7 PC, uninstall your printer. Download and install this driver: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/djF300/AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe The printer must not be connected to the PC during installation. You connect it and turn it on when the program asks you to. you go to: control panel - printer - right click: delete.
